In English (rough translation)

After a speechless first half, AIK changed properly in the second half. The Stockholm squads finally won the quarterfinals with 3-0 against the Norwegian Stabaek Football. Tomorrow, the semifinal is waiting for either NorCal Premier PDP or CA Osasuna.

It was an event-poor first half that started the quarter-finals in Gothia Trophy F17. There was not much to report about from the first half hour. Both teams had some half-chances in a low-risk half.

"We created some chances, but could not use it. In the second half, we became more comfortable and able to get the balls in target, "said Sarah Melén, born and raised in the United States where she lives in the same day.

"I'm here in Sweden during the summer and play in Gothia with AIK. Otherwise I play football at the High School in the United States. I have a Swedish father and try to learn the language, but it sounds strange and is very difficult, says Sarah Melén.

In the second half, AIK took hold of the ball and could also take the lead. After 44 minutes, midtbacken Emma Becker made a good save on distance from the left. The ball drilled into the net roof to 1-0 against the Norwegian Stabaek.

Just two minutes later it was time again. After a quick change, Ebba Norén became free and could coolly roll in 2-0. An additional four minutes later, it smashed again. This time through landscaping Hanna Ekengren who scored 3-0 which also became the final result. AIK's other straight zero.

"It was a strong victory. The whole team played very well and I'm happy about how we performed today. I'm also very happy that we're keeping zero. It feels like me and the back line are doing good now and can play as we like, "says Melén.

AIK is now ready for semifinal where either NorCal Premier PDP or CA Osasuna awaits. The semifinal will be played tomorrow at 15.00 on SKF Arena.

"It will be a very tough match no matter who we will meet. If we work hard and play as we did today, I think we can do it and go to the final, "says Melén.

Did you think you would be in semifinal after 0-7 against Tokyo Verdy in the first match?
- I think we still believed it. For Tokyo Verdy is a fantastic good team, they were phenomenal. But I still knew we were also a good team to beat all other teams in the tournament.
